Welcome Back!

I hope you enjoyed your summer break. I am looking forward to us singing together and preparing for the upcoming holiday season.  I want you to know that you are so appreciated!  Every member of the choir plays an important role.  When you are not with us, we are not the same.  Please come to practice and be ready to lead worship on Sunday mornings.  Our ministry is an important one at Faith Baptist Fellowship.  Thank you for your commitment!

How Can I Thank You Enough

We have so much to be thankful for.  It was fun listening to you recount the goodness of the Lord tonight at choir practice.  The word Eucharisteo is used 37 times in the New Testament.  The first is in Matthew 15:36 and He [Jesus] took the seven loaves and the fish; and giving thanks, He broke them and started giving them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.  Jesus gave thanks to His heavenly Father for his abundant provision.  Isn’t that beautiful!  Jesus modeled thanksgiving with a genuine heart.  It humbles me to picture our Savior standing outside with this meager offering and thanking His Father for it.  I can just see a glimpse of a smile as He was talking to His Daddy, knowng full well the miracle that was about to come.  It feels like a child on Christmas morning, anticipating what is coming next… great joy and giving glory to God.  With Jesus as our example, let’s live anticipating the glory of the Lord being revealed through His mighty hand.  Give thanks… break the bread… and start giving out the abundant provision of our heavenly Father.  The world is waiting.

“Strengthened with Power through the Spirit” Ephesians 3:14-21

The link that I referred to in Sunday School this morning was not written by Billy Graham.  He was quoted in the article.   So, before I post the link, let me read it closer to make sure it is sound.  If Dr. Graham were the author, I would post it immediately.  I’ll keep you posted!

Excellent Job!

Sunday morning’s anthem, “His Life for Mine” was absolutely beautiful. I was so proud of you and felt blessed as I heard you sing. I know it has been a while since I blogged but I will try and do better this fall so that you will be “in the know” about our schedule and goals. We have an ambitious but exciting Fall Music Schedule. Please listen to your cds so that it will help you with the words, timing, and notes.

Christmas Schedule

This Wednesday night, we will have a practice that will last a little longer than usual.  It is important that everyone be present so that we can accomplish as much as we can.  If things go well, and I am almost sure they will, we will not have to get together on Saturday morning.

Let’s get together Sunday night instead!  After the Experiencing God group meetings, let’s go caroling and have a Christmas party.  Come at 6:30 – 7:30 for the EG DVD and at 7:30, we will go caroling in our neighborhood.  We can then gather around our piano or fireplace and enjoy some sweet fellowship.  If you would be willing to bring a salty or a sweet to the party, that would be very much appreciated.

On January 10, we have been invited to lead worship in Salisbury for Immanuel Baptist Church.  Let’s talk about this on Wednesday so that I can give Walter Agnor an answer.  Randall will be preaching.

Merry Christmas!!

Giving thanks for you…

Tomorrow night we will practice “He’s Always Been Faithful” and “We Believe.”  If we make great progress on those songs we will work on December music.  One day at a time, grateful for your commitment and our sweet fellowship.  Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfector of your F A I T H !     Blessings,  Linda

He’s Always Been Faithful

This Thanksgiving, let’s sing about the faithfulness of our loving God!  We will begin working on singing this song for the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  It is in the Simply Worship 4 book on page 92.

We will also work on Christmas music so bring your “We Believe” Sheet Music (11/15), and books:  Unspeakable Joy, Shine on Us, and Come Let Us Adore Him.

Last but not least, we will learn another song out of our “Hymns of the Ages” book.  The Redeemed Medley is on page 69.

We will welcome Duncan back to the group this Wednesday night.   Hopefully your travel days are over!

No choir practice this Wednesday night!

You did an outstanding job singing at the EBA meeting on Sunday.  Thank you so much for your dedication to the choir.  A special thank you to Del and Shirley Kailianu for treating us to a luxurious ride to and from, providing bottled water, and for making arrangements for dinner.  You both are a blessing to all of us.

It was truly a worshipful experience.  “Mighty to Save” and “Praise the Father, Praise the Son” were powerful proclamations of the power of God.   ”So Send I You” was right on with the pastor’s message and the harmonies were beautiful.  Each part could be heard so well.  I wish we could bring home some of those acoustics!   Since you all gave so much on Sunday, and so many of us are struggling with colds, let’s take this Wednesday off.  We can get home a little earlier.  Please be listening to your CD before next week.  Thank you again for your ministry through music!
