How Can I Thank You Enough

18 Nov

We have so much to be thankful for.  It was fun listening to you recount the goodness of the Lord tonight at choir practice.  The word Eucharisteo is used 37 times in the New Testament.  The first is in Matthew 15:36 and He [Jesus] took the seven loaves and the fish; and giving thanks, He broke them and started giving them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.  Jesus gave thanks to His heavenly Father for his abundant provision.  Isn’t that beautiful!  Jesus modeled thanksgiving with a genuine heart.  It humbles me to picture our Savior standing outside with this meager offering and thanking His Father for it.  I can just see a glimpse of a smile as He was talking to His Daddy, knowng full well the miracle that was about to come.  It feels like a child on Christmas morning, anticipating what is coming next… great joy and giving glory to God.  With Jesus as our example, let’s live anticipating the glory of the Lord being revealed through His mighty hand.  Give thanks… break the bread… and start giving out the abundant provision of our heavenly Father.  The world is waiting.
